Last child off to college

On Friday, August 15th, the car packed to the brim, we headed to Salt Lake City again. This time we would leave our last child, Melissa in Logan to go to Utah State University. We visited in Salt Lake for a few days with family. JoAnna and Kevin fixed a nice BBQ on Saturday, eating on the roof was added fun. Monday morning we moved Cory into a new place in South Jordan just off the freeway, making it closer to work. Cory, Kevin and JoAnna, Bruce & Jerolyn, and Glen had a fun afternoon golfing at Wasatch State Park and a tasty BBQ at Glen & CarrollLees. Melissa was spending time with her friend, Brittany. They went to Lagoon again, using their bounceback pass. This all happened the first weekend we were in SL. Tuesday we caught up with Melissa and Brittany at Harmons parking lot and carpooled to Logan. Brittany was kind enough to help take Melissa's belongings to Logan. Our car just couldn't fit it all. When we got to Logan, our first stop was the Student Center so Melissa could check in for her freshman connections class. We were hungry so we went to Cafe Rio for lunch and Kyle and Alli conveniently met us there. ;-) We had a great time! It's a favorite place for all of us!! We then went to Melissa's apt. to check in and move her in. Bruce and I stayed in a hotel for a couple nights in Logan. Melissa settled in and we knew she was going to be busy in class for the rest of the week.

Fortunately, Allison and Kyle invited us to the Webbers cabin in Island Park to stay for a couple days. Thursday and Friday were to be play days and Saturday was to be the cabin work day. We rode the four wheeler to the top of the ski hill to see the view and watch for wild life. We drove through Yellowstone Park, where Kyle saw Old Faithful blow for his first time. We also had a picnic at the lake, where we saw two Bald eagles. Friday night we met up with Spunk and Amy at the Playmill Theatre, to see "See how they run." It was a funny mixed up play, which was hilarious. Saturday we repaired the roof and stained the deck railings. On the way back to Idaho Falls we took the scenic route through Big Fish Springs and Mesa Falls. Allison's family wanted us to try Big Judd's (hamburger joint) where the special is a one pound hamburger the size of a plate and French Fries. We ordered two specials for the six of us, but only five of us ate. When we arrived in Logan, we saw that Melissa was adjusting well to college life and her roommates. We left for Salt Lake on Sunday and returned home to Arizona on Monday night.

Thanks to all for your hospitality and fun!!!!
