Small Happenings

The day we got back from Utah, I had a phone call from a friend asking to ride with her to Idaho the next week to take her daughter to BYU-Idaho. With a sigh, I told her I would talk to Bruce about it, not wanting her to drive home alone, and the nice person that I am....lol decided to go with her. Besides I could see my kids again, so she didn't have to twist my arm too hard. I'm ready to stay home for a while now. At least till Thanksgiving.....hehe

It has been a while since we have had a post...so here you are. Melissa is settling in just great at college. She loves the social life and the independence. As for Bruce and I, it's an adjustment....but I think we will manage. It's very much a change from having family around for the last 26 years.

We are busy in our church callings, Elders Quorum Presidency and YW Secretary. We spent a week in Scottsdale at the Villa Mirage Resort, finally using our gift from our realtors. Had a free, elegant dinner at the Chart House off the shores of Scottsdale Lake. Very nice setting for a beautiful evening. Of course, free doesn't always mean without agonizing over a 90 minute time share presentation, that turns in to 2 hours. At least we kept it under 3 or 4 !!! We played tennis, used the pools, exercise room, and it was just a nice out from the normal every day life.

Our yard is still a work in progress. Our curbing went in last friday. YEAH!! We will order rock this week for the rest of the landscaping project. Our hope is that the yard will be low maintenance when all said and done. We are close!!!

Elections. Elections. Elections. What do you say about that..... Bruce was involved in a state proposition calling 100 people to survey opinions on the marriage amendment happening in Arizona this year. This amendment would change the state constitution to only recognize one man and one woman as a marriage.
